Dr. Abed delivers comprehensive treatment for cardiovascular diseases. Presently, she is the Chief of Cardiology at Jersey City Medical Center.

Dr. Abed was recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in Women’s Health in 2017. In 2014, Dr. Abed was honored as Physician of the Year by the American Heart Association, and in 2009 she was runner up as the New Jersey Business Healthcare Hero of the Year.

Her interests include women and heart disease and preventative cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Abed is a member of the Cardiovascular Health Advisory Panel for the State of New Jersey.  She speaks Arabic, English, and Spanish and regularly speaks before a wide variety of organizations.

  • Received Medical Degree from University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco, CA

  • Completed medical training in cardiology and internal medicine at NYU Medical Center in New York, NY
  • Fourth-year focus in percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, trans-septal technique, myocardial biopsies, and general cardiac catheterization
